A powerful reminder of the mysticism of another age, this dolmen [link] is thought to mark a barrow or burial mound circa 3500-2500BC. The original structure toppled during a thunderstorm in 1815 and was rebuild nine years later by local volunteers.
One feels a sense of quiet awe in the presence of such places, for the literal weight of significance, and the ghostly procession of time and spirits passing by, and this one was no different.
